Florida Axis Deer Hunting! All three of us was on a Florida cull hunt for the freezer. We needed three meat Deer of the famous Florida Axis Deer. We were driving in the POLARIS to a tall large sand in the back where we saw some nice Axis cull deer go into the woods, and my friend Jeff was up. After about two hours we seen ten or so Axis Deer come into the field with a couple nice cull bucks. We was neck shooting only to ensure no meat was wasted, so Jeff had a hard shot at 150 yards. It took him forever to shoot because the Deer would not stop moving, but boom and down goes the buck. We walk over and sure enough neck shoot with fresh meat for the freezer. We skinned him out and off for number two. We threw corn out front of a famous stand we call TAS mahal and I was up. It only took 15 minutes and there they were. Hard shooting these Axis Deer because they always are in a group moving around. All the corn was almost gone when I got an open shot at 180 yards and down goes number two with a neck shot. The third Deer came out in the same field an hour later and damion was up. I don’t know what he was shooting at but after his shot it was clear the Deer was hit in the lower part of the leg. I said right off it’s hit and we won’t find that Deer. We tracked blood for over two hours then no more to be found. We lost that one. So I guess when the BBQ comes damion go hungry this time, because Axis Deer is way to good to be sharing with your friends. So when looking for Meat to fill your freezer, make sure you have hunters that can shoot. Lol
