This is way more then your average fossil tour, because not only are you guaranteed to find fossils, but you have a good chance of seeing deer, boar, turtles, armadillos, birds, and other wild life on your walk or ride down to our private fossil hunting paradise. LOCATION AREA We are located around one hour south of Tampa, or an hour east of Sarasota just on the outskirts of arcadia on all private land bordered by creeks & streams in the heart of fossil country. Florida was submerged for millions of years to create this great fossil area! Some of these Fossils can fetch upwards $20,000 are you ready to hunt. The Peace river flows into our private area that has not been fossil hunted before. The public cannot generally access this area to collect. Great fossils are here we have done all the homework for you, so spend your time digging where you will be successful. PRICES Walk-in tour: - $75 per adult $60 per child under 12 (professionally guided or on your own, you chose!) Kayak trips: - $100 per adult $75 per child under 12 (professionally guided or on your own, you chose!) Monster swamp buggy trip with 4 hour fossil hunt. $150 per person (min 3-person, 9 max) 9am One of a kind buggy ride/ photo safari threw an exotic ranch, with a huge chance of seeing axis, fallow, siki, red stag, perier david deer, black buck antelope, Wild boar,& others on your trip to a preselected private creek dig area, then ride back through the preserve What to wear & bring Wear crocks, or old tennis shoes, a hat, shorts, and sunscreen. A small cooler with lunch & drinks is great. Bring a towel, dry shoes and clothes to change into for the ride home. Permits A permit can be obtained through the FLORIDA museum of natural history. There is a $5 fee per year. Invertebrate, shanks teeth, & plant fossils can be hunted for without a permit. No fossil hunting is allowed in any state park or wildlife area.
