Trophy Axis Deer Hunts in Florida Well as a guide we were looking for Hogs and seen some that were moving a little to fast to shoot, when there he stood. It was a very big Axis buck. My client could not pass on this one and changed up the hunt from a Hog hunt to a trophy Axis buck on the spot. We lined up on him from the woods and took our shot, and off walked the Deer. Well all I can say is all hunters miss from time to time. Off we go looking for a Meat Deer or a Hog on our long day hunt. We had seen several Meat Deer, but were unable to get on them without getting busted. Wow Axis Deer are a hard Deer to hunt. We walked for a while longer to another Hunting field and peeped out when I told my client the was another big buck in the corner of the field. Holly crap I was thinking this Axis buck may be bigger then the one we missed. Alright calm down and control you breathing as I put my client on the shooting sticks. Take your time I was whispering to him, take your time. Bang, off goes the gun and I even jumped. The Big Axis buck jumped and off he went. I said looks like a good hit, good job.
